In the event It's On! Wonder Halloween!, Rui becomes deeply concerned about Tsukasa's safety, and subconsciously holds himself back as a result. Despite the apparent riskiness of his ideas, Rui does his best to take safety into consideration. This includes using people as test dummies for his ideas and waterboarding them in swimming pools, as stated by Nene. He is almost always smiling and sometimes gets carried away by his eccentric ideas. Rui lives by his own set of rules, which causes people to consider him a weirdo. In a wedding show, he wears a tuxedo with a blue undershirt and an orange tie. In his Live 2D model for the Kamiyama festival, his shirt is bright yellow with his classroom's number painted on it in orange. He seemed less lively and his smile was dull. His hair was much messier, long and unkempt, one side poorly held back with a pin. He had a purple undershirt and wrinkly brown plaid pants.
When he was in middle school, he wore a messy, blue striped tie, a wrinkly white straight-point shirt with some of the buttons undone, and he kept various pens in his shirt pocket. The hem of his shirt is white and it is shown a cyan undershirt. The jacket is overlaying a shirt with a pattern of two diagonal stripes - one grey, the other white - and two other stripes going the opposite direction - one a pale blue, the other a darker blue with white stripes. He also wears blue pants.įor his casual outfit, he wears a green-hooded jacket with the cuffs colored pink, orange, and green. His sleeves are rolled up to meet at his elbows.
While at school, Rui is seen wearing a light grey cardigan and a loosely-worn red-and-blue tie atop a pink-white blouse, the first button undone. It's mentioned that a friend of his made this outfit for him. These same rhombuses are found in white on the lower wing collar and the hems of his boots. The inside of his tailcoat is the same chartreuse color as the splatters on the outside, with a darker checkered-rhombus pattern. The ends of his rolled sleeves contain short, white lace poking out of the ends. He wears white pants with black knee-high boots and short, white gloves. His show outfit consists of a yellow ribbon, navy dress shirt, black vest, and a long pink-and-purple tailcoat with a neon chartreuse splatter pattern over the shoulders and the bottom edge of the coat. His voice is gentle, though it becomes strained when he is excited or curious. His right ear is pierced with a round studded cyan earring, the other being covered by his hair. Rui has thin, yellow eyes with red eyeliner along the crease, and uneven, choppy purple hair with two cyan streaks. He is given this opportunity when he joins Wonderlands x Showtime, and greatly appreciates how Tsukasa is willing to try his inventions and stage directions. He can often be seen performing guerrilla shows on the street and/or in Phoenix Wonderland, which causes security to chase after him.ĭespite his independence, deep down, Rui has the desire to perform shows with other people again. Rui eventually decided that he would perform shows on his own, using robots as his actors instead of real people. However, due to his eccentric manner and risky ideas, his classmates grew to dislike doing shows with him and pushed him away. When Rui was young, he loved to create shows and tried to include his classmates in them. Rui is also very skilled in inventing machinery and creates animatronics for the shows. He manages the groups' stage performances and is both an actor and stage director for Wonderlands x Showtime. Rui was the one who recommended her to join the troupe. Rui and Nene are next-door neighbors, as well as childhood friends.
